Level 7. 20,700 points. May 13, 2019 9:20 AM in response to kevdude1234. Apple's iPhone chargers work with voltage anywhere in the world., 110, 115, 120, 220, 230, 240 and whatever else you might find. All that is needed is a mechanical adapter so that the plug fits into the receptacle. ( 0)
Apple Watch Magnetic Charger to USB-C Cable (0.3 m) It is also discontinued by Apple but can still be purchased from third-parties (read Amazon, Walmart, Target, ebay) It does not support fast charging Apple Watch Series 7 and newer. This is the second model USB-C Magnetic charger offered by Apple, available since 2021.
You completely missed the point. OP is concerned about the heat produced by 20W charging and wonders if 5W would be better for long term. Using+charging is in general bad idea due to the heat generated, if charging alone creates heat, using a device will be always worse. 4.
Asked 3 years ago by Lori. A: Yes, it was designed to fast charge the iPhone 12 at the 20 watt power level (iPhone 11 and older only supported up to 18 watts power). This results in a slightly faster charge if your phone supports it compared with the usb-c 18 watt charger or the older usb-a 5 watt or 12 watt chargers. Answered 3 years ago by Will.
4. 20W USB chargers are not dangerous to use with an iOS device. A non-defective USB charger coupled with a non-defective iOS-device will not overheat, explode, or reduce the life-time of the device. It is perfectly valid and normal to use a 20W USB-charger with an iOS device. Any standards-compliant charger is fine.
Can you use the Apple 20w as your regular charger like charging overnight or is it only to be used for fast charging? For instance since having my 12 Pro I’m down to about 50% at around 6 hours into my 8 hour work day. At this time I usually charge with the Apple 20w up to 80% - 100%. Then overnight I charge using the Apple 20w. Thanks!
I have a Series 7 with an Anker Nano 20W power adapter and the included Apple Type C to Apple Watch cable, and it’s been fine. Make sure if it’s 3rd party accessories that they’re good, if you’re skeptical then Apple’s cables are pretty good.
I prefer charging with a classic 5W Apple Charger. Slow overnight charging + optimized charging kicked in is the best. I only use a 20W fast charging when I’m in desperate need and don’t have the time to wait around. With the USB-C coming to the next year's iPhone. I’m not sure what I’m going to do since 5W Apple Charger won’t be
